I started this website because I realized during my first semester in college that the Bookstore rips you off. Posting flyers doesn't reach a lot of people and posting Books on the internet can be a hassle. The cheapest way to buy Books and the best way to sell a Book is student to student. It's a win-win situation. You're able to make more money than if you sold your Book back to the Bookstore and you're able to save more money than if you bought a Book at the Bookstore. What better way to find a buyer or seller than to go to a website with a database of people who are buying/selling Books at your school? That's why I started this website. Why wait? Scholarships:

Scholarships awarded every semester. Submit a one page essay to Scholarship@HoustonBookExchange.com describing why you deserve a book scholarship, your recent successes, your future goals and a bit of information about you. Requirements: You must be a current member of Houston Book Exchange and a college student in the Houston area to enter. One scholarship awarded per semester.

Fall - $300, essay due by July 31

Spring - $300, essay due by December 31

Summer - $150, essay due by May 31

Requirements: You must be a current member of Houston Book Exchange and student in the Houston area.
One scholarship awarded per semester.
